Description
The inspiration for my own garden abounds at Thuya Gardens in Northeast Harbor Maine. Their flowers and landscape design are magnificent. These are light pink foxgloves. Bees, hummingbirds and butterflies love them! When I planted these in my own garden, I was unaware that they are very poisonous to dogs. So when they passed away, I quickly removed them from my garden, never to return. We have a precious Golden Retriever named Sophie and she loves my garden. So I guess I will appreciate foxgloves at the Thuya Garden and not in my own garden.

Another interesting fact about foxglove, they are made into a medication called digitalis, which is given to persons with congestive heart failure. My dad died from congestive heart failure, and was just started on digitalis, so did not have time to fully recover. He died in his sleep. Also the fact that it is poisonous to dogs, makes it a plant that you may not want to plant in your garden if you have any dogs. Nice to know these important things about what these plants can do, both beneficial and not.
