Description
When my children were little, we would pretend that the mushrooms and other fungi growing on trees and logs were little houses and structures to protect the fairies living in the woods. These shelf fungi remind me of little steps leading to the fairy's castle high in the tree top. The little moss growing just beside the fungi symbolizes a warm greeting from the fairies. When making fairy houses, we never used specimens that were alive or living off something. My children never would have used these natural materials to make their fairy houses, but we would have used our imaginations to bring the Woodland Fairies to life!
