Description
Okay, so I have visited Acadia National Park for the last twenty-five to thirty years. Each summer we visit Mount Desert Island for three weeks and we make several day trips to the island. While visiting, we always hike Cadillac Mountain. There are several hikes up to the peak, so you have a good choice of how to peak the mountain. This photograph was taken on the North Ridge Trail. This trail is very family friendly and takes about two to three hours to hike up and down. At the top of Cadillac, there is a small tourist store that sells ice cream and yummy blueberry pop. They also sell other souvenirs that you might like to pick up on another journey when you do not have to carry them down the mountain. This shot was taken mid peak. The view is of the famous Porcupine Islands in Frenchman's Bay. As you can see from the photograph, it was a glorious day to climb Cadillac. I hope to make this hike again, but in the autumn when the leaves are changing and there will be a chill in the air that makes hiking a lot more pleasant. Acadia and Mount Desert Island is a wonderful family vacation spot.
