We came upon these wooden planks. These planks are here to help hikers, but also to preserve natural habitat. The rocks scaffold the boards. Definitely a Northern New England look.
Elizabeth Dow replied:
I tell ya Betsy, I was in the deepest of forests. It was serious business. There were warnings all over the place to stay on the trail. It was gorgeous and just a trip of a lifetime!
Sarah Loft
Beautiful! sounds like a wonderful trip too.
Elizabeth Dow replied:
Hi Sweet Sarah, It was an amazing trip. As I process the photographs from this trip, my son has left for college. I decided a while back to wait to process them until after he went off to RIT to bring the memories back of our epic trip. We will go back next year and I am hoping to summit to Katahdin. XO
