Description
While Maine is known for snowstorms and frigid cold winter weather, we also have many beautiful gardens in Maine in the summer months. These magnificent flowers are Larkspurs. They are an annual flower that grows tall and attracts hummingbirds and bees! They grow one to three feet high and good news for us, they are not attractive to deer! They do look very similar to delphiniums, but delphiniums are a perennial species. I have a few delphiniums in my garden right now, but I definitely think my garden needs a few Larkspurs as well! Loving the purple and blue colors in these amazing flowers. Spring is here in Maine now, but I will need to wait until Memorial Day weekend to plant these lovelies in my garden!
