Description
A short distance from our home is a nature preserve called Twin Brooks. The land was owned by a local farm and they donated it to the town of Cumberland. It is now used for hiking, cross country skiing and recreation. We even bring our horse up here in the nicer weather. On this particular day, I was hiking with my son and our golden retriever Sophie. As you can see from the photo, the sun was shining and created this glow around the snow covered trees. It was so private and mysterious all at the same time. I was reminded of Narnia when I took this photo. With all of the travel limitations, we are forced to find ways to escape in our own backyards. I am very grateful that Twin Brooks is available to us to escape the sadness and pain in the world right now. Try to find pleasure and peace in the small things right now. A walk in the woods is a perfect reminder that we generally have all that we need in this uncertain time.
