Description
While on holiday on Mount Desert Island, we always eat at Thurston's Lobster Pound in Bernard Maine. Bernard is actually a village inside the township of Tremont Maine. Thurston's is really the best place to eat lobster, crab cakes while enjoying a chilling cold Blueberry Soda from the Atlantic Brewing Company which is also located on Mount Desert Island. While wondering around taking in the beautiful Bass Harbor scenery, we saw this adorable Volkswagen Beetle! Isn't she adorable? I love how the owners positioned her just overlooking the backside of Bass Harbor. This is such a classic car and reminiscent of days gone by. When I was a child, we would play a car game trying to be the first to spot the Beetle Bug! It would entertain us for hours. When the Beetle was first build, they weren't very popular in the United States. The Germans had a difficult time selling them in the US because of WWII. But, with some work in advertising and marketing, they did eventually become more prevalent in the 1950's and 1960's. I love the grey color of this very well maintained Beetle. How many Beetles will you see now after seeing this photo? Things just have way of working out like that! Happy Spring!

I used to have a 1973 Super Beetle, only made for one year. It was a bright yellow one. Love driving it. This is one awesome capture and wish I still had mine today..
