Artist's Description
This is a maple tree in my back yard. It's branches are beautiful and the foliage on the tippy top of the tree is magnificent. But This tiny little branch caught my attention. It grows closer to the bottom of the tree. I just love how it sprung from the tree for some random reason. In any case, the yellow leaves remind me of the children's song, This Little Light of Mine. This branch with its colorful leaves is letting it's light shine for the world to see and appreciate. Here is the chorus of This Little Light of Mine:
This Little Light Of Mine,
I'm gonna let it shine,
This Little Light Of Mine,
I'm gonna let it shine,
This Little Light Of Mine,
Yes, I'm gonna let it shine,
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!
"This Little Light of Mine" is a gospel song that came to be an anthem of the civil rights
movement in the 1950's and 60's. Often mistakenly believed to have been sung on
plantations during slavery, it was originally written by Harry Dixon...
About Elizabeth Dow
Thank you so much for visiting my Fine Art America page. Throughout my life, I have always enjoyed taking photos. My favorite part of taking photos is sharing them with people so they might visit places from afar even if they can't physically be there. The world is an amazing place and I feel that it is our responsibility to enjoy, preserve and share our love for the places we visit. As a child, I would use my parents camera to take photos that reflected my passions, which are flowers, horses, ocean, and snow storms. Here in Maine, we are fortunate to have an abundance of places and a vast array of weather to take many interesting photographs. Many of my photos are taken in and around Acadia National Park. Acadia National Park is New...
