Love tracks....

Artist's Description

The railroad tracks that run through Yarmouth are retired now. There aren't any trains that run on these tracks. It's really sad actually because these tracks transported lots of goods and products to Portland. People used to ride the train to Portland. But what I love most about these tracks is that my four times great grandfather, John McKearney, helped build these tracks. According to a local history book, John McKearney came to Yarmouth because of the Grand Trunk Railroad Company. He found Yarmouth to be a nice place and decided to stay. I am very happy that he did because I now live in his house with my children and my husband. Love the history of my hometown and love these railroad tracks!

About Elizabeth Dow

Elizabeth Dow

Acadia National Park is New...
