Portland's Fore River is so picturesque. So many tourists come to Portland, specifically to the Old Port, to explore quaint shops and popular restaurants, but I wonder if they ever walk the entirety of Commercial Street and take in the sights of the fishermen's and lobster men's lives and places of work. There is a lot of history in the historic wharves and wooden pilings seen here in this photograph. Take some time to walk and explore some of the sights off the beaten path. You might be surprised what you find.
