There are many ways to climb Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park. On this particular climb, we chose the Gorge Trail. The trail parallels a swiftly moving stream downward off the mountain. There were parts of the hike where we could not see the stream, but we could hear it gushing underneath the rocks that we were climbing over. It is the coolest trail after a significant rain fall. It is slippery and you really must be an experienced hiker to transverse the portions where the stream crosses the intended pathway. This is one of the many waterfalls my family and I came across while hiking upwards. It encompasses all the beauty and danger that we came across.
