Mount Desert Campground is the best campground on Mount Desert Island. Situated at the tip of Somes Sound, we have the opportunities to kayak, swim, explore and relax. One morning, we all got up early to see the sunrise on Cadillac Mountain. When we returned to the campground, I walked around and enjoyed the sunrise at the campground too. The waters were so calm, almost mirror like. The reflections of the trees, clouds and rocks were simply stunning. Mount Desert Island is truly heaven on Earth.
