Artist's Description

Never too early to get your boats in the water for some people! I just loved this person hoisting themselves up the mast to attach the rigging on their boat. The water was still very cold as this photo was taken on May 17th! Brrrr....I wouldn't want to fall in that frigid water. These boats were all set to take sail. This scene is taken just off of Union Wharf in the financial district of Boston. Sailboats are so sleek and beautiful. I love how they cut through the water without any impediments...as long as there isn't a rock or lobster buoy in the way! Sailing really does take me away from everyday problems. Summer is finally here and soon my family and I will be setting out on our smaller, more modest boat than the ones featured here. But fancy or basic, all sailors have the sense of calm and exhilaration while sailing.

Here in Maine, we are fortunate to have an abundance of places and a vast array of weather to take many interesting photographs. Many of my photos are taken in and around Acadia National Park. Acadia National Park is New...
