The sky might not have been very pretty when we visited Boston over Memorial Day weekend, but that's okay! The birds, ducks and the Canadian Geese were showing off their brood of six goslings. With the swan boats in the background, and the water birds mixed in with the sparrows, it made for a very lovely scene in the Boston Commons. My daughter and I sat for a few minutes just watching the activity, and believe me, there was plenty! The male mallards in particular were very cautious of each other and were very protective of their female counterparts! The geese were naturally very protective of their six goslings. The tourists were very respectful of their space and parents kept their children quiet and mindful of the close proximity of these elegant birds!
