Artist's Description
The Sparhawk Mill in Yarmouth Maine is a town landmark. Built in 1857 by the Royal River Manufacturing Company, the Sparhawk Mill is truly a landmark property. Situated right on the Royal River, it is now home to many thriving small businesses. The character of the building has not changed inside or outside at all. The Sparhawk Mill has three hydroelectric turbines of which two currently run, supplying power to the building. In addition any excess power that is produced is sold. The Town of Yarmouth has a long-term plan of removing the dam and bringing the Royal River back to its natural state....
About Elizabeth Dow

Acadia National Park is New...
