Hands down, the best time to visit Portland Head Light is in the winter when then wind is howling and the snow if falling. Why you ask, because there aren't any people around! Don't misunderstand me in the slightest. We love people who visit our state and appreciate Maine's beauty. But sometimes, we just want to enjoy our state without all the tourists. This is such a beautiful spot in all seasons, but in the winter, there are usually just locals around, sledding with their kids and letting their dogs run for miles. I especially love the "Please Keep Off The Grass" sign in the lower left corner. So that's why I gave it the title!
