Description
Snow and ice are nemeses to be sure when you want to be somewhere or get somewhere in a timely fashion. I definitely prefer to stay home and let the snow and ice fall all over my yard where I can observe from my own window or deep in the snow covered forest. We recently had an ice storm in Yarmouth and the effects of the ice were magical! I love how it covered every branch, immature bloom and strand of hibernating branch, flower and tree! I edited this photograph on New Year's Eve when were saying good-bye to 2021 and ringing in 2022. New Year's Eve isn't a holiday that I relish, and in fact, I am filled with a sense of ambiguity and trepidation of the new year to come. For me, 2021 wasn't a horrible year, but it was for many of my friends and for many in the country and the world around. I wish them all the best that 2022 has to offer and hope that their loads are lighter. We tend to carry our sadness like the ice on this delicate branch, so afraid that our sadness will break us in some way. But we are strong and resilient like this dainty twig. We have the ability to leave our sadness in 2021 and look at 2022 as the start we all need. Sweet blessings to you and the ones you love the most. Slainte!
