Description
I will admit that I just liked the contrast of the red rose hips against the pure white snow with the ocean in the background, but Rose Hips are far more valuable than I have ever known. In reading an article on the website, Willow Haven Outdoor, I learned that Rose Hips are used to make the famous Rose Hip Tea and the seeds inside the Rose Hips are great in trail mix! Who knew? According to the website Willow Haven Outdoor, Rose Hips are very rich in Vitamin C, beating even oranges! They contain superb levels of vitamin A, citric acid, calcium and beta carotene. My question is: Why do we not have farms cultivating Rose Hips? They are New England's crop! I think the next time I find these berries, I will pick a few and at least try them in a tea! Tea is their other use, which helps cure and prevent colds. We really can learn something every day!
