Description
Hiking up Acadia Mountain is delightful, especially when you get to the top. You are treated to a magnificent view of Somes Sound, Flying Point, Flying Mountain and Northeast Harbor. We have spent much time admiring the view. I especially love this photograph because I can see the water currents moving because of the boats and because the tide is coming either in or out. Somes Sound was declared a fjord, but is now called a fjard because it doesn't have the depth and because "it lacks the extreme vertical topography and the oxygen deprived sediments as the Norwegian fjords."
