Ode to My Dearly Loved Father
You were a man full of ultimate love and kindness.
You gave so freely of yourself to others without wanting or needing anything in return except love and gratitude.
You taught me how to be kind and generous to others. I carry on your life lessons to me and hope somehow that I can instill what you taught me to my family and friends.
I can imagine sitting with you on this bench in this magnificent garden taking in all the beauty around you and loving every minute of our time together just enjoying the simplicity of the moment.
We would have talked about plans for the summer and possibly including a garden bench similar to this one in my own garden for you to enjoy and rest upon.
Sadly, I will never sit with you on this bench or one similar to it in my own garden.
But I can imagine you sitting with me, smiling your magnetic smile and hugging me tight in your big brawny arms.
You are with me always and I can feel your presence every day at every moment.
I love you with all my heart and wish you peace in Heaven.
My life is good, but my sorrow is heartfelt with missing you so much.
Rest easy my wonderful father for I will be okay and will thrive in my life that you gave to me.
So in my dreams, I look forward to sitting with you on this bench for a while.
With all my love now and forever, your loving daughter.
