Description
January, in my humble opinion, is the best time to visit the beautiful beaches on Maine's seacoast. This is Reid State Park beach in Georgetown Maine. It has been years, and I mean years, since I have visited this location. The beach is pristine. There isn't any seaweed, shells, rocks or ocean debris of any kind. My husband and I had the beach to ourselves for quite a while, I think mainly because the wind was so incredibly strong. It was cold to be sure, but we are hardy Mainers and plan ahead. We both had our long johns on with extra warm coats, hats and mittens. There are three beaches separated by rocks. This is the first beach that you come upon closest to the main parking lot. The other two are located down the coast a bit. It's a lovely walk and I highly recommend walking all of the beaches that are located on the property. They are all just magnificent.
