Description
Walking through my woods one day, I found this amazing example of Turkey Feather Fungi. I hadn't ever seen this type of mushroom growing in my woods. I was immediately drawn to its colors, specially the blue/grey color around the outer most rings. Upon doing some research, I found that Turkey Feather Fungi is an antioxidant, helping people with cancer. It aids the immune system, gives patients energy and relieves pain! It is also used for canine cancer! Used medicinally for centuries, it was used in Japan as tea. It helps relieve symptoms of cold and urinary infections. Once again, I have proven to myself that I am not too old to learn new things. This Turkey Feather Fungi is so beautiful and decorates my rotting trees with so many lovely colors, I could not possibly take it down to use for the cold I am currently suffering from. This photograph was also taken RAW without any editing! I have also just learned that this grows as a perennial. Each ring of the fungi indicate how many years this fungi has been growing! I think that is just amazing!
