Description
This is the Portree Lifeboat! She is a really sturdy and rugged motor boat. Well, she had better be sturdy and rugged because if you need rescuing from another boat on the coast of Skye, you want a sturdy, I can get through anything, type of marine craft to come haul you and whomever else you have on your ailing boat to safety! You can just tell that this lifeboat has been there and done that! This lovely vessel lives in the Loch Portree and is part of the Portree Lifeboat Station. This station was founded in 1991 and they operate in all types of weather and all year long. Those are some brave men and women who navigate this trusty steward of safety! But on this lovely October evening in 2018, the Portree Lifeboat was resting comfortably all geared up and ready to go on a moments notice to rescue some forlorn captain and his/her crew.
