Description
There is only one way to reach this pristine pond. You must either hike up Sargent Mountain or Penobscot Mountain in Acadia National Park. This is Penobscot Pond. It is directly between the Sargent Mountain and the Pebobscot Mountain. Our family always swims here when hiking either one. This was a long hike for our family. We summit Sargent from Hadlock Brook Trail. We then took a detour to Penobscot Pond, but continued back down the Sargent South Ridge Trail to the Carriage Roads just past the Amphitheater Granite Bridge. It was about a six hour hike!! Stopping at this pond was just what we needed to refresh and get back out on the trail!
