Description
On the banks of Eagle Lake in Acadia National Park, there is a sanctuary for Monarch Butterflies. There are many Milkweed Plants growing there with many Monarch Caterpillars. It's wonderful!! This is a macro photo of one of those caterpillars. I felt quite lucky to capture this shot on this particular day because the wind was blowing very fast and the plants were swaying in the wind. As you can see, he or she has eaten through the leaf and was most likely scouting out another place to enjoy lunch! We must do everything we can to ensure that the Monarch Butterflies are not made extinct. Plant your own milkweed in your garden to keep them alive and able to reproduce. Thank you so much.
