Description
There is a certain piece of property inside Acadia National Park that is so peaceful and private. It is the Private Property Walk where only pedestrians and equestrians are allowed. Bike riding is strictly prohibited! The path circles around Little Long Lake just beside Bracy Cove. If you are quiet, you can see Loons and many other species of wildlife. Last summer we saw a Heron's nest, complete with two huge Herons. If I were a water bird, this is where I would live. Oh heck, as a human, if I could live on this amazing island I would!! I have a saying, that I live in Yarmouth, but my home is on Mount Desert Island. This is rather odd because I really only spend three weeks a year on the island. We have been camping on MDI for about twenty five years. People are amazed as to why we return year after year. In looking at this photograph, is there any question as to why I return with my family each summer? We also visit Acadia in the autumn and on New Year's Day. Part of my soul lives on Mount Desert Island and in order to keep my soul in tact, I must return to retrieve it!
