Description
If you have the fantastic luck to visit Edinburgh, Scotland, I highly recommend visiting Holyrood Palace and Holyrood Abbey. This is the official residence of Queen Elizabeth when she is in Edinburgh. Oh my it is so fancy and decorated beautifully!! Located at the bottom of the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, at the opposite end to Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace has served as the principal residence of the Kings and Queens of Scots since the 16th century, and is a setting for state occasions and official entertaining.
"Perhaps one of the most famous monarchs to live at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Mary, Queen of Scots' chambers where she lived between 1561-1567 are not to be missed. When you climb the steps up to the north-west tower you enter a world of intrigue, tragedy and murder." (https://www.rct.uk/visit/palace-of-holyroodhouse/highlights-of-the-palace-of-holyroodhouse#/)
Mary Queen of Scots is my favorite Monarch. I am not sure why, but I have read extensively about her and seeing her home was a highlight of my trip to Scotland. There is a new moving about her which I haven't seen, mainly because I haven't had time and also because I am nervous that the writers and director will have changed so many things about her life to please the audience. I might give it a go, but for now I will enjoy editing my photographs from Scotland. Very pleased with how this photograph turned out!! Perhaps now I will need to go back to Scotland in the spring or summer to see all the beautiful gardens that grow around this magnificent palace!
