Description
The Hadlock Waterfall Bridge is a majestic structure. All the bridges are in Acadia National Park. The Carriage Roads and stone bridges in Acadia National Park were financed and directed by philanthropist John D. Rockefeller, Jr., between 1913 and 1940, for hikers, bikers, horseback riders and carriages. The network includes 57 miles of woodland roads free of motor vehicles, of which 45 miles are within Acadia National Park . These carriage roads allow seasonal cross-country skiing and limited snowmobiling. Generally there is a lot of water running down underneath this bridge as well, but the island is extremely dry this summer (2016) and the rocks are bone dry. The waterfall was just a mere trickle. Hopefully next year we will have more rain and experience the waterfall in all its glory.
