Description
While visiting friends in Schoharie New York, I came upon this covered bridge as I was just about to hop on Interstate 88. Well, I found a safe place to turn the car around so I could get a better look at the bridge. This is what I found online after processing the photograph.
The Fox Creek covered bridge is actually a concrete arch which is 115 ft long. The covered portion of the bridge resembles a Town Lattice Truss. It is on the end of Old Stone Fort Road in Schoharie NY, Schoharie County. The bridge is closed to traffic. Designed by an Albany, NY native, Gerald Waldbillig, the bridge crosses the Fox Creek.
It is not an historic bridge as it was built in 1982, but it is still very pretty! It is for people only and is not open to traffic. It was so unfortunate that I did not have more time, because I would have crossed the bridge to explore more of Schoharie. I had hundreds of miles to travel to Rochester and ran out of time. Just another excuse to return to this charming village!
