Description
Over the last few weeks I have been processing photographs from a photo session with fourteen people and two dogs. They were delightful to work with and their family was beautiful inside and out. But portrait photography is so exacting and needs to be polished and perfect. Not that this photograph is not perfect because I happen to think that this view of Frenchman's Bay in downtown Bar Harbor is pretty close to perfect. There are many differences between portrait photography and landscape. I allow myself to be more artistic with my development of landscape photography that I do with my portrait work. This is the first photo I have processed after my big portrait project. It felt so good and therapeutic to craft this photo into a warm and fuzzy dream. As many of you know, Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island in general is my favorite place on Earth. This is the gazebo just beside the Bar Harbor Inn overlooking the beach which is just beneath the fence you see in front. The tide is high and the fog is rolling in over the Porcupine Islands. The Margaret Todd is out for her sunset sail and will return shortly. This photograph will find a place in my home. I can imagine myself underneath the gazebo looking out on the peacefulness. Enjoy.
