Description
Shelf or Bracket Fungi can been seen growing on tree trucks of dead or decaying trees. They also grow on living and thriving trees. They grow in horizontal rows or shelves, hens the name Shelf Fungi. Used medicinally for a variety of ailments. Some are annuals, but others are perennials, growing larger year after year. The rings around the fungi indicate how old they are and how many years they have been growing! This photograph was taken in my own forest. It is unedited and shot RAW.
