Description
Bass Harbor is my favorite lighthouse. I think I have visited this iconic lighthouse more than one hundred times. It never gets old and I always visit this place when I am on Mount Desert Island. I love how it sits on the rocky cliffs, looking down and out at the ocean protecting the boats from crashing up on the rocks. In this photo, the tide is going out or just coming in..but we can see the tide pools that are created when the tide is out. There are so many periwinkles and barnacles exposed when the tide is out. This iconic lighthouse is not to be missed

Technique, composition and exposure are awesome, but the climbing prowess with all your gear is exceptional, at least to this 57 y/o klutz who has tried to get down that viewpoint before.

Hi Kyle, You are funny. Actually, I just climbed the rocks with my camera. No tripod, no fancy gear. I am the supreme klutz and wound't dare bring anything except my camera. While we were at the light house, a wife dropped her husband's very expensive looking telephoto lens in a puddle of water. I have often wondered if they are still married. He was upset for sure! Thank you so much for your wonderful complement!
