Description
The 1780 Somesville Selectman's Building and Bridge is known far and wide as a beautiful and picturesque historical landmark on Mount Desert Island. Somesville is the oldest town on Mount Desert Island. It was developed in 1761 by Abraham Somes. Somes Sound and Somesville are named in his honor. My family and I camp each summer at Mount Desert Campground and this bridge is a place we visit year after year. Just beyond the bridge, there is a cemetery called Brookside Cemetery. It is named Brookside as it is perfectly situated beside Somesville Brook. Walking through the cemetery is amazing. There are so many original families resting in the cemetery. This year my kids and I went up to MDI on New Year's Day. Being on MDI in the winter is amazing. I cannot wait to go back.
This photograph has been altered to give it a soft focus feel. I want the observer of the photograph to appreciate the soft lights and the glow of the snow, sun and water.

You've developed an artistic view of the building and bridge, nicely captured and edited.
