Artist's Description

The Brookside Cemetery is so beautiful, even in the winter. The Cemetery was part of the land owned by Abraham Somes, who founded Somesville. Somesville is the first established town on Mount Desert Island Maine. The history is vast and very interesting. While visiting Acadia National Park on New Year's Day, we explored a little on the island. Brookside Cemetery was one place that I had to see in winter. It is so peaceful and the scenery is so lovely. The ground is transformed with the snow and ice. It's a wonderful place no matter what the season!
