Description
I love it when the tide is low at Madeline Point! The sea stars are visible to those of us just getting off our boats. This one was having a tasty barnacle dinner! People commonly refer to sea stars as star fish. They are not fish. They are related to the sea urchins and sand dollars. These creatures are amazing because when they are under attack, they can dislodge their arm and grow a new one! How cool is that. So when you are fortunate to see one, please be very gentle with them and help them keep all of their limbs! Also, spread the word that they are Sea Stars....not Star Fish! Thanks!
